All passengers are required to check in a minimum of 30 minutes prior to scheduled departure time listed on their itinerary. Boarding will commence 15 minutes prior to scheduled departure. Agents cannot guarantee boarding upon late arrival.
All passengers 18 years+ must provide valid (non-expired) government issued photo ID upon check in.
The safety of our passengers is our number one priority. Following Transport Canada regulations, Sunshine Coast Air requires passengers body weights to ensure each flight is flown with safe weight limits and is properly balanced.
Each passenger has up to 25lbs of luggage per paid seat included in their ticket and is guaranteed to fly with them on all scheduled routes. This includes all baggage, including personal items such as purses, backpacks and laptops.
Luggage in excess of 25 lbs will be charged at check-in and will fly on a stand-by basis as flight availability allows.
Sunshine Coast Air does not have an office at Vancouver Airport, or Victoria Airport Water Aerodrome. Excess luggage that is unable to be accommodated at these locations is the responsibility of the passenger. Sunshine Coast Air holds no liability or responsibility for luggage that cannot be accommodated.
All baggage, including purses & laptops must travel in the cargo compartment.
Individual bags may not weigh more than 50lbs each. Due to the nature of the aircraft, larger sized suitcases may not be able to be accommodated.
Our goal is to provide safe and reliable service to our passengers; however some weather factors may impact service. Should factors impede our service, we will do our best to provide as much notice as we are able to, and travel alternatives where required. Weather cancellations, aircraft substitutions and travel alternatives will be determined and addressed by management at their discretion.
Vancouver flights operate at Vancouver Airport South Terminal, from the Seair Dock located at 4640 Inglis Dr, Richmond, BC. The pilot will meet you at the desk on the right, inside the Seair office.
YVR operates a courtesy shuttle between the main International and Domestic Terminals to the South Terminal and the South Terminal Float Plane Dock. The pick-up times vary by day with a frequency of every 30 minutes. A full schedule can be found on the YVR website.
The Victoria Airport Water Aerodrome is located on Widgeon Dr, North Saanich, just off West Saanich Rd. Sunshine Coast Air does not have an office at this location, and there is no covered or indoor waiting area. Please wait near the coded gate and your pilot will come to check you in and escort you to the plane.
At this time Victoria Airport does not operate a shuttle to the Water Aerodrome.
Sunshine Coast
The Sunshine Coast Air Sechelt Inlet base is located at 5987 Sechelt Inlet Rd. There is a private gravel parking lot on the premises where customers can park on a first come, first serve, complimentary basis. The parking lot will open 45 minutes prior to the first flight of the day and close 30 minutes after the last flight has landed. Guests leaving their vehicle for long periods of time should advise the customer service agent at the desk.
Nanaimo Harbour
The Sunshine Coast Air Nanaimo base is located at Unit #7, 90 Front Street. This is on the waterfront walkway, across from the Coast Bastion Hotel. Parking is available at a paid lot monitored by Robbins Parking which can be entered via Wharf St off Front St. This lot is ground level. There is also a multi-level unsecured lot which can also be entered off Front St., (follow signs for Seaplanes). Parking can be purchased at the kiosk using cash, credit card or a parking app.
Vancouver Airport
The Seair dock is located at 4640 Inglis Drive in Richmond, BC. This is a pilot check in location, and the pilot will meet you at the desk on the right, inside the Seair office. Parking for floatplane passengers is located on the north side of Inglis Drive (across from the floatplane terminal), on the west side of Bell Irving Road. When this lot is full, floatplane passengers can use the Public Overflow Parking Lot. The Public Overflow Parking Lot is located 200 metres to the east along Inglis Drive, off Cowley Crescent.
Victoria Airport Water Aerodrome
The Victoria Airport Water Aerodrome is located on Widgeon Dr, North Saanich, just off West Saanich Rd. This location is considered a remote pilot check-in, as there is no covered waiting area. Please wait near the coded gate for your pilot to come and collect you. There is a parking area on the right-hand side of the road as you turn onto Widgeon Dr and before you reach a coded gate. This is a free parking area.

Sunshine Coast Air offers a student discount to eligible passengers in post-secondary school on the Sechelt – Nanaimo route.
Students must show a valid (non-expired) student ID with photo and expiration date at check in. Cards without a photo, or expiration date, or an expired ID will not be accepted, and the full Classic fare will be charged on check-in.
Sunshine Coast Air offers a senior discount to eligible passengers 65 years and older on the Sechelt – Nanaimo route.
Seniors must show a valid (non-expired) government issued photo ID to show their date of birth at check in.

All animals accompanying passengers cannot be booked online and is subject to availability. Maximum of one animal per flight. The animal must be in a hard-shelled crate and will be placed in the cargo area of the aircraft.
The animal and crate cannot weigh more than 25lbs combined weight. Crate dimensions must not exceed 25″ x 16.5″ x 14.5″. Weight will go towards the luggage allowance included in your ticket.
